Somewhere in Time, Unlimited
Dress-up Opportunity:

Vintage Band Concert
"Music In The time of Edward VII "

November 12, 2011

The Vintage Band was directed by Chris Barnes.
The music for today's program included a number of selections
which are played at the "Final Night of Proms".

Lady Victoria of Essex

Sir Harry of Essex

Members and friends of Somewhere in Time, Unlimited were invited to attend this wonderful concert.
Maestro Philip Wilkinson puts together "park concerts" every year and presents them
in the dark days of Autumn as we head into the bleak days of Winter,
longing for those wonderful Summery days once more!

The darling Miss Julie & Mr. Terry

Quite a spread of treats were offered at
the intermission time; salad, small sandwiches,
deviled eggs, macaroni and cheese, banana bread
(baked by SITU's Lady Victoria), and the prized
dessert of chocolate or vanilla custard ice cream which was made by SITU's Miss Pippin!
(She is wearing the white hat in the photo below...)

Oh, the ice cream was so terrific.
We could top it off with nuts, chocolate syrup,
sweet cherries, homemade cookies -
there was something for everyone.

The choir was made up of seasoned members of
the adult choir and members of the children's choir.

"All Thru The Night"

At one point, the director of
the choirs performed a
couple of songs.

"Danny Boy" was a crowd favorite
and garnered many cheers and
whistles from the audience.

Maestro Philip Wilkinson greeted Sir Harry of Essex who was dressed in a
R.A.F. (Royal Air Force) uniform and was leading the children's choir
through the church to the melody of "Colonel Bogey".

This melody actually has defamatory lyrics describing the axis of power
in WWI and WWII.  In the movie "Bridge over the River Kwai", the original
"Colonel Bogey" had an additional musical "bit" added,
specifically for the movie.

beautiful Miss Sharon of Bothell.
