Croquet & Picnic in The Park

Sir Harry and Lady Victoria of Essex love Summertime. 

It's a great time to enjoy the warm weather, dining al fresco,
and getting together with friends!

They are now inviting all of you, their historical costuming friends
to join them for a game or two of croquet or bocce ball,
as well as a picnic meal.


 

The date and time are set.
Participants are to bring
your own "main course savory" for yourself or family, something to share for the picnic (such as a side dish or dessert), and to come dressed as your favorite fictional character from history - in any historical era you prefer.

If we have requests in advance to be able to grill a burger or sausages, then a small BBQ will be brought in
for everyone's convenience.

** If you are bringing a potluck item, PLEASE make sure it is heat tolerant.
Participants consume these items at their own risk.
 

If you wish, you may be seated upon your picnic blanket,
or, you may wish to bring your own small table & chair.

**Remember to bring your own picnic supplies, including:
plate, cutlery, napkin, drinking vessel.
Lady Victoria will bring lemonade for the group, as per usual.
 

After the picnic goods have been enjoyed, serious "whacking" of croquet balls and "cracking" of bocce balls will be in store!

Upon arrival, you'll see that the field-of-play has already been set.
The course is going to be challenging, as the grass is uneven and contains divots.

 
The Details ~
Attire: Here is an opportunity for your creativity to shine!  Come as a storybook character, a fictional character from history, you favorite super-hero, whatever is your favorite fictional character from whatever era!
Cost: $5.00 per person (children under 10 are free)
You do NOT need to be a member to participate
When: Sunday, August 17, 2014
Time: 11 am - 7 pm
Where: Jefferson Park
* Details to be emailed a few days before the event to those who have registered/paid.

Bring:

 Plate, cutlery, napkin, drinking vessel, chair or blanket to sit upon, etc.
