Cinderella was all dressed for the ball when she looked at her shoes and thought, “These don’t really go with my dress. I wish I could change them to match.”

Unfortunately, her Fairy Godmother was off at a Bingo tournament and it was time to go meet the Prince, so her shoes never got changed.

Meanwhile, back in Oz, the Wizard was checking out Dorothy’s shoes and said, “Girl, really now, that shade of red with that shade of blue? I don’t think so.”

Just then, the monkeys came flying in from a tour around Oz and wanted to party, so the shoes never got fixed.

And then, there was the lady back in Seattle who had the perfect 18^th century gown, but her shoes were soooooo 20^th century. She started searching for the right person to help her redo those shoes. She looked and looked, and then she found the SITU website and on it was the perfect solution. A Shoe Painting Workshop!

What:

This is a 2-part Workshop. Participants must attend
Part 1 in order to continue on to Part 2.

When:

Saturday, Mar 15 - Part 1:

Learn to choose shoes suitable for painting. Design ideas, preparation & painting techniques.

Saturday, Apr 12 - Part 2:

Painting the shoes.
(The really fun part)

Time:

10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (ea Saturday)

SITU's own Joan Hemm

Cost:

$25 per person
Kit includes: Paint brushes, paint, and various supplies.

Where:

Registered participants will receive name of site, address and map the week of workshop.

What to bring:

Part 1
l Shoes are not required for Part 1. If you have a pair of shoes you want to bring, you can discuss them during the class.
l Finger-food pot luck item to share for lunch. There are no convenient close-by places for lunch.
lAny design ideas you may have in mind or fabric swatches for matching colours.

Part 2
l Bring the shoes you've selected to paint. (Up to 2 pairs)
l Finger-food pot luck item to share for lunch. There are no convenient close-by places for lunch.
lAny design ideas you may have in mind or fabric swatches for matching colours.

Class is limited to the first 14 people to register.
After that, all others will be wait-listed.

This is a "members-only" workshop
held for the benefit of members.
