"Over there, over there
Send the word, send the word over there
That the Yanks are coming, the Yanks are coming
The drums are rum-tumming everywhere.

So prepare, say a prayer
Send the word, send the word to beware.
We'll be over there, we're coming over
And we won't come back 'till it's over over there!"

George M Cohan

Come on one and all!  Come on over to celebrate and salute our brave boys who have so gallantly served in the War to End All Wars.  We'll be serving a fine dinner with music for dancing.  There will be a hearty welcome for all.  Just don your best duds and come to the hamlet of West Seattle.

Poor Europe was run over by the Huns and those miscreants who wanted to shake down the world.  From 1914 they have been fighting with tough spirit.  They were dug in and dug out, knee deep in mud in the trenches and blown out by mustard gas.  I'm telling you, it was the worst of the worst.  All those times of worry and woe, not knowing whether they would ever see home again, our boys endured.

England asked for the Yanks to help and boy did they!  They came over and together, we were able to settle the deal.  Armistice at last!  On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, peace!

American Expeditionary Forces, WWI.)

So get out your smartest outfit and get ready to celebrate! It's an afternoon affair, so no need for white tie, just a nice lounge suit will do for the men.  A pretty frock will be fine for the ladies.  Maestro Phil Wilkinson has his musicians ready, one of the finest bands you'll ever want to hear.  There will be waltzes, fox trots, perhaps a polka, maybe something new - the Charleston?

Bring a picture of your solder or other family member who served, as we want to salute them.

We'll have wonderful baked ham and beverages (cider and tea).  Please bring a side dish or dessert to share (see below).  We'll be in a charming, but modest structure (new in 1919!).  Our location is a bit Spartan, so we ask that you bring your own tableware.
