"Seaside Get-Away"

As the sweltering heat settles in over Town, making everything feel wilted, people remove to seaside resorts to see relief and diversion.

Members and SITU Friends - You are invited to join our excursion to a picturesque seaside park to escape the heat and staleness of Town!  Enjoy a picnic, lawn and table games, excellent company - see and be seen.

Pack your picnic baskets and spend a day along the seaside where you can enjoy the cooling breezes off the water at our Summer Seaside, nautically themed picnic.

This is the perfect opportunity to dust of that historical swimsuit or flashy navy uniform you have tucked away in the closet..

DETAILS:  
Date: Sunday, July 19, 2015
Time: 11am - 4pm
Wear: 1870 - 1912.
Victorian swimming costume, navy uniform, sailor suite, "Summer Whites" seaside outfit - all designed to help beat the heat while looking fabulous.
Food:

 

 Ideally, bring food n your own hamper you can eat. If you wish to share food with others, please consider weather and heat conditions, so we don't have food going "off."

There are several picnic tables at the location.  Tablecloths to cover would be ideal.  Some of these tables are under cover in the shade of the "shelter", while others are more open.

There is a bbq there, should you wish to roast sausages or chicken.  SITU is not providing food. You will be responsible for your own charcoal supplies.

SITU will be providing: Ice, water, lemonade.
Bring: Bring your picnic hampers with your own utensils plates, cups, napkins, etc.

If you'd like to play cards, chess or a board game, you are free to do so.
Photo Opportunities: The plateau in the hillside we have reserved, has beautiful vistas of the Olympics and Puget Sound.  Additionally, there is a children's jungle-gym in the shape of a sail boat or pirate's ship.  We have the opportunity to take staged photos here as well.  It has levels for some to stand upon.

Driving directions will be sent the week of the gathering to those who have registered & paid.
Cost: $5.00 for Members or Non-members.
