"An Afternoon with Agatha Christie"
Sept 20, 2009
Chehalis Railroad

It's a brisk autumn afternoon.
You've traveled a long way during a hectic
time in history.  You've dodged potential
spies overhearing your conversation while you tanked your vehicle at the nearest fuel station.

Now you've finally arrived at the depot and
it's time to step into the presence of famed British author, Agatha Christie and back in time to experience England as she was in the 1930's and early war years...

Members & friends of SITU will be traveling by their own motor coaches to the town of Chehalis, Washington where we will gather at the historical railroad and board a vintage 1930's dining car pulled by an authentic 1920's steam engine.
While the round-trip 19 miles of scenic countryside slips past our windows, we will be served an English dinner.

You have the choice of Prime Rib, Chicken Cordon Bleu or Salmon as the main course.  Side dishes will include steamed potatoes
(we ARE on a steam train after all) and fresh vegetables, as well as bread & butter.  The caterer has a surprise dessert for us.

What to wear:  Daywear from 1917 - 1949.
What to bring: Your carpool partner, cash (for wine if you're buying any @ $6.00 per glass), and
a true sense of fun.
Members are being given the opportunity to purchase tickets for 2 weeks prior to the
general public.  (Ends August 1, 2009)
