Jan 25 (DUO) "We're not in Kansas Any More" -
Murder Mystery.
It's 1948.  The cast & crew of the Wizard of Oz is in town. When their director is found dead at the Historic Anchor Inn, they are all suspects.  Enjoy Kip Ward's famous spaghetti dinner and explore the inn while following the clue.  Be the first to solve the case and win a prize!  Dress: Circa 1940's is encourage but not required. $25 per ticket includes the dinner.

"Titanic - The Survivors' Ball" 1912

May 2 (UCE)SITU Spring Event:
"The Mystery of The Quilted Tulip"

This gracious Victorian mansion and non-profit group is joing up with the members of SITU to hold a Victorian Tea and "I Spy" Hunt.  This event is going to be open to the public. Details to follow soon or contact: Lady Victoria

         
May 17 (DUO) Everett Senior Center Tea
The ESC puts on a tea for the elderly and they are looking for volunteers willing to outfit the tables and serve tea.  Email Joan!
         
July 12 (DUO) Model T's Arrive" - Seattle, WA. 
Authentic, vintage model T's are being driven to Seattle from New York in celebration of hte Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition Centennial (AYPE)  Estimated date of arrival is the weekend of July 12th.  More details will be posted in the future.  Cllick HERE

July 18 (DUO) Kla-Ha-Ya Parade - Snohomish.  This year, if you are interested in participating and can set aside the time, you can walk the short route or ride on the back of a vintage truck.  Lady Victoria will collect your name on her list so we know how many participants we are likely to have.  Contact Joan or Lady Victoria.

August 16 (UCE) SITU Summer Event:
"Great Gatsby and Friends"

Attire: 1920's, 30's and early 40's.
SITU negotiated with the City of Seattle for use of a historic park.  Vintage cars.  Music.  Start planning your wardrobe now!

         
August 30 (DUO) Norwegian Day - AYPE
The Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition took place in Seattle 100 years ago.  SITU joins the Norwegians in celebrating AYPE, their heritage, and the arrival of a Viking ship to Seattle's Fisherman's Terminal.  Contact: Lady Victoria or visit the Nordic Heritage Museum for more info.

         
Sep 13 (DUO) Concours d'Elegance - Kirkland
The rival of Pebble Beach fame, this elegant event and fundraiser will take place once again in Kirkland, Washington.  Devotees of vintage cars pay hefty entrance fees to tour the show.  A limited number of SITU members are invited to mill about the vehicles in historic attire from 1900-1913.  Hope for good weather!

Sep 20 (UCE) SITU Autumn Event:
"An Afternoon with Agatha Christie"
Attire: Daywear 1917-1949.
We are boarding a 1930's railcar to be pulled by a steam engine, for a 2-hr trip while we are enjoying a catered dinner and murder mystery.  Seating is limited to 56 passengers and already we have sold more than half.  If you have interest in coming, BE SURE to email Lady Victoria of your intent and visit our webpage for this specific event.

The train must be loaded by 2:30pm and will depart promptly at 3pm, so don't be late!!!
         
Sep 26 (DUO) Autumn Leaf Festival, Grand Parade -
Leavenworth Washington
The members and friends of SITU have been invited to participate in a WONDERFUL community festival and parade this autumn.
We will be in various eras of historical attire and invite those interested in having a fun day in the sunshine, to join our merry troupe!

         
Oct 25 (DUO) "Evening in Vienna"  UW East HUB.

 

         
Nov 1 (DUO) The Sorrento HotelCentennial Tea
(or Luncheon)  - Capitol Hill, Seattle.
One of Seattle's most glamorous hotels is having a birthday and SITU is ready to celebrate in style!  Arrangements have been made for us to settle in around the lovely fireplace in the hotel's rotunda (Fireside Room) to enjoy a true formal "afternoon tea", comfort food or drinks.

The selections are quite yummy and should please a large array of attendees.  Come dressed in your 1909 daytime finery, or "Sunday Church" sort of attire.  We're meeting at 2pm.

If you are interested in participating, please let Lady Victoria know so she can provide the hotel with an accurate head-count.

Did you acquire your gown yet for the masked ball in February?  Do you need to sew a Regency dress this winter?

Dec 6 (UCE) "A Dickens of a Holiday Tea"
SITU Members and friends will enjoy the spirit of the season in a historic, romantic and private mansion on Seattle's Capitol Hill.  We'll gather for a quiet mid-winter potluck/tea.  Anyone interested in coming is invited to wear whatever era of historical attire thru the 1940's best suits your style.

This is a limited-seating Event.  Only those who have pre-paid and are confirmed reservations will receive the address of the home.  We can not accept "late comers" on the day-of.

December 12 English-Speaking Union Holiday Ball
(A non-SITU sponsored event.)
SITU members and guests are cordially invited to the Christmas Ball, Saturday, Dec 12th at the Sunset Club located at University and Boren.  If you've been at the Sunset Club before, then you'll know how lovely it is.  If not, you'll be thrilled by its long elegant drawing room and fireplace, marble foyer, antique furniture and large ballroom with wall paneling reminiscent of the "Chinoiserie" style by artist Leo Adams.

Dinner features your choice of duck or scallops (vegetarian also available).

This is a black-tie event rather than a historical event.  Gentlemen can come in kilts and formal Bonnie Prince Charlie jackets.  Victorian/Edwardian evening outfits worn by the ladies, would be most welcome.  Miss Loveday will also be wearing one.

Dance music will be provided by the Bert Carlson Trio.  Additionally, there will be a silent auction, including some jewelry!

Price:   $85 per person, includes dinner, glass of wine and evening entertainment.
Time:  6:30 Social hour, 7:30 Dinner

December 12 Leavenworth Christmas Lighting
(A non-SITU sponsored event.)

A luxury-coach tour bus has been engaged by Lady Victoria to transport folks from Seattle to the quaint city of Leavenworth, Washington
in time for their famous Christmas Lighting!

SITU members, friends and family are invited to reserve space on this excursion trip quickly.   As a value-added benefit, Lady V will be providing you with a mid-morning snack and coffee, tea or juice. 

Price
is only $35 per adult, $20 children* 2-12, children under 2 who fit on your lap ride free.
(*There is a limit of 10 children.)  There are two pick-up locations: South Seattle & Eastside.

(DUO) "Snohomish Historical Society -
Victorian Parlour Tour"

Victorian/Edwardian attire.  The City of Snohomish rolls out the red carpet to show off the lovely vintage homes in town.  This is a GREAT Dress-up Opportunity!

We have received comp'd tickets if we are willing to appear in Victorian/Edwardian attire.  We will be touring the homes, visiting with the antique merchants and wandering around downtown Snohomish.  We'll end the day at 4:30 at the Cabbage Patch Restaurant for an early dinner.

December 19 (DUO) Christmas Shopping in Pioneer Square!
Dress in your favorite Victorian or Edwardian attire and join us downtown for a bite to eat and afternoon shopping capped off with a horse drawn carriage ride thru downtown Seattle.
