The SITU Sewing Circle has been in existence for a long while and we have had some great times!  We've grown over the years and so have the needs of our membership.  Therefore, the costume planning process is now referred to as "Design Studio", where we will gather, spread out books, patterns, example of costumes, and discuss the "look" for an upcoming Event.  We are also holding "Workshops", normally held in public spaces, where a more structured class is taught about a certain garment or accessory.

If you enjoy Victorian reenacting, Victorian clothing, 18th Century attire, Regency, 1920's, the 1940's and so forth, this is the group for you to become involved with this year.  We are here to help you get "the look" and even teach you in Workshops how to do it!

 SITU University Presents:
"Victorian Bustle"
Design Studio

Sunday, August 7, 2011

We are pleased to feature SITU's own Miss Bobbie & Miss Patty as the Instructors for this Design Studio!

SITU has plans for several Dress-up Opportunities and the Autumn Event for which the ladies will want to wear a bustle, so you'll want to come to this afternoon of education.

What will you learn?

  • What is "the look" going to be for this era and event.

  • What exactly ARE bustles? Pads? Cages?

  • What kind of things could one cobble together from thrift store finds if you don't know how to sew.

Location & Time?

  •      After you email MissBobbie of your intent to attend,
she will email you confirmation and the address of the
Design Studio which will be held in a centrally located
    public library.  Space is limited.

What to bring?

  • Your note-taking goods, including a PENCIL (not pen).

  • Something to drink in your own container.
**Remember - If you'd like to view books or garments on display, do not touch any exhibits unless you have
clean hands and have your drink well away from the exhibit.
    Thank you for your consideration....

If you have interest in enrolling for the afternoon Design Studio, please be sure to RSVP to:  MissBobbie "at" SITUSeattle.com so she can register you.
